A daily schedule which begins from 9 in the morning continues till the big arm of the clock takes 9 more 360 degrees turns is often exhausting. Finally when I arrive home my favorite pastime is watching Nat-Geo with my favorite (available) food and drink. I cherish that time.
As usual I fancied the similar kind of time today, and eventually got it. I was watching this documentary where these guys were trying to break down a hero Honda 50. The creator of those documentary claimed that the 2stroke, 50cc kick start 2 wheeled vehicle which looks similar to our own M50 or M80 is indestructible. Their methods to prove their point were not that creative I must say. First they tried having an odd ride on footpath, road, potholes etc. Then they tried to pressurise it by attaching around 200kgs of weight which comprised of 80 pizzas, 40 kilograms of vegetable, uncounted weight of fruits, plus the hefty sized rider. It did not make any sense because everything fell from the bike as the vehicle start off. Then they hanged it 100 feet on the crane and tied the other end of the vehicle to a block of 150 Kg suspended block . This neither made any sense because it was kept in this position for not more than 30 seconds. So finally they threw the vehicle from 60 meters above the ground. Needless to say its wheels turned from round to an obsolete shape. To check if the machine is still in sync they checked if it is still igniting. Amazingly that uncomplicated engine raved up in first kick.
So what is fun enjoying these gobbledygook? I see the eyes of hero Honda 50’s designer. I see a sense of accomplishment in their eyes. Have you seen a similar Top gear episode of Jeremy Clarkson trying to destroy Toyota hilux? He parks that truck in the middle of the sea shore completely submerged in the sea water. Do you believe the engine still heaved up after the little bit use of screwdriver! Watching the vehicle die in front of you and you considered died vehicle getting started absolutely like any other day is like watching a 4th stage bed ridden cancer patient taking part in the Olympics. It feels like ‘Good for you, GO AHEAD!!’ kind of stuff.
My problem therefore starts here, what vehicle I would use today that I would expect from it, that it would endure the similar extreme torture?I doubt even Ultra modern Royal enfields offer such durability.
